Do not use one pile unless all buyers genuinely pay the same price for the mixed material. Separate according to commercially meaningful differences such as heavy versus light material, cast iron, oversized pieces, turnings, galvanized material and known alloy-bearing scrap. The number of piles should be determined by buyer price spreads, volume and handling cost.
